This landmark production commemorates 70 years since its first performance in 1946, re-opening the Royal Opera House following World War II. Mounted meticulously from the original score, accompanied by luxurious stage designs, and starring the beguiling Margot Fonteyn as Princess Aurora, The Sleeping Beauty quickly became The Royal Ballet’s signature work and helped to establish the Company’s international reputation.
The live cinema relay is presented by Darcey Bussell, who danced the role of Princess Aurora with The Royal Ballet. The evening is one not to be missed.
