Lady Does Breakfast at Costa Coffee in Andover – October 2013

Richard from Andover Town website and I decided to have a get together and meet over a morning coffee, so we chose Costa as it is central and easy to get to, we decided to meet first thing at 9.30am.

I arrived before Richard and got into the queue which was very slow moving, when I eventually arrived at the service area, I ordered a cup of tea and a toasted teacake, my tea was poured quite quickly and served with a small jug of milk, I was given a number and asked to take a seat after I had paid. It cost around £3.50 which isn’t bad at all. My tea cake arrived promptly and was nice and hot.

Richard arrived and the queue had gotten much longer so we chatted a while until it reduced when Richard jumped in to get himself a drink, he bought a Strawberry Creamy Cooler which is also one of my children’s favourite.

I always enjoy the tea in Costa as they merely pop a tea bag in a cup with boiling water and you do the rest, so it is always how I like it, the toasted tea cake was fresh and crispy, the butter was a little hard and tricky to deal with but it melted pretty well eventually into the tea cake, filled with lots of fruit, this is a nice snack when you are on the go. Richard’s cooler was lovely and thick, creamy and fresh and took him a long time to get through.

There are many treats and sweets on offer in Costa to have with your drinks, a whole range of paninis and toasted sandwiches along with a variety of cakes and biscuits, the only thing lacking in the Andover Costa is the speed of service, I have on occasion walked in and walked straight back out as I know if there is a queue, it will take forever to get served.
