Labour Announce Andrew Adams as Candidate for North West Hampshire in 2015

North West Hampshire Labour Party have announced that local activist Andrew Adams has been selected as their candidate to contest the North West Hampshire constituency in next year’s General Election. The 32-year old Railway Manager lives in Micheldever where he is a Parish Councillor and has previously contested a number of wards on Winchester City Council.

Speaking after his selection Andrew said “It is an honour to have been selected as the Labour Candidate – the people of North West Hampshire deserve better than the treatment they have received from the coalition government over the past 5 years and need a committed local MP to stand up for them in Westminster. A Labour government will restore fairness to the economy whilst prioritising our key public services in challenging times and I look forward to sharing our message with voters throughout the constituency’.

Labour have pledged to eliminate the deficit within the next parliament whilst increasing the basic wages of low-paid workers, reducing the dependence on Working Tax Credit and also scrapping the widely unpopular bedroom tax; Andrew added ‘the Conservative’s plans for more aggressive cuts will be disastrous for the economy, only Labour will tackle the cost of living crisis and put ordinary people first. This will be an election like no other and Labour are the only viable choice for anyone opposed to the Tory vision of pre-NHS spending levels and attacks on the most vulnerable in society. I am confident that we will see Ed Miliband as our next Prime Minister which will have a very positive effect on people throughout this constituency’.

Alan Cotter, Chair of North West Hampshire Labour Party said ‘ we are delighted to have selected as our candidate, a young man who is a local resident, an experienced campaigner and someone who is committed to Labour principles.’
