Following the tragic death of local man Anthony Smith this week, Andover’s MP Kit Malthouse requested in the House of Commons, that there be a debate on Mental Health Provision.
Kit Malthouse addressed the main chamber in the Houses of Commons and said, “A number of young people in Andover, in and around Andover in my constituency, have tragically died at their own hand in the last few years has reached disturbing levels.
“Further, a charity just based just outside of Andover, Veterans in Action, is currently on a round Britain tour, raising attention to the issue of PTSD. And bearing in mind the striking speech of my honourable friend from Plymouth Moor View, can the leader be persuaded to make time for us to debate mental health issues, particularly the provision of mental health issues to veterans and young adults in the country.”
