Jonathan Marval completed his 62 mile Race to the Stones in 11 hours and 58 minutes. Not only did Jonathan complete his personal challenge but he raised over £1,500 for local independent charity Andover and District Mencap.
Jonathan finished 74th out of over 2000 entrants and experienced quite a lot of leg cramps during the event. Jonathan said a few days after the event “All in all it was a successful (if long) day. The legs are starting to get back to normal now and stairs are becoming less of a challenge. Thank goodness. I can’t believe how generous people are being”.
Jonathan’s father Michael said “We were certainly very proud of what he achieved.”
Jonathan is now back at work and back to his fatherly duties of helping to look after 3 young children. Andover and District Mencap wishes to thank Jonathan for donating his sponsorship money to the charity and the money will make a big difference to the lives of local people who suffer from learning disabilities.
