John Hanson Community School raised £3000+ by doing a 24-hour Bike Ride on Monday of this week, 22nd July. The funds are set to be a ‘funny and bright’ boy named George.
3 Teams from John Hanson took part in the 24-hour challenge, as well as making as much money as possible for George but also competing with each other to see who can get the furthest distance.
The GoFundme page set up by John Hanson Community School described George as, “George is a very funny, bright and loving 6-year-old boy, who loves exploring and learning about new places.”
George was recently diagnosed with Juvenile Macular Degeneration which resulted in colour blindness and vision loss.
Juvenile Macular Degeneration has no cure currently and Georges condition will only get worse.
George struggles to recognise faces, read and watch TV, he is a registered sight-impaired.
George wants to experience the Effiel Tower, see the leaning tower of Pisa and stand in the colosseum to be a gladiator.
The donations on the GoFundme page is currently at £3,329 + £220 from cash donations of a £2,500 goal.
