It’s Graduation Time for Andover’s Junior SchoolsMore than 400 pupils from nine primary schools across the town took part in the Andover Junior Graduation on Friday 17 and Monday 20 July.

The celebration is organised by Test Valley Borough Council and the University of Winchester and recognises the achievements made by the pupils as they come to the end of their journey at junior school and prepare for secondary school and beyond.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “This is now the eighth year that we have helped to organise the Junior Graduation. The event provides a great opportunity for the pupils to look back at what they have achieved in junior school and to start thinking about their futures. It is vital that the pupils’ achievements are recognised and that they are given information about the options available to them to help them make informed decisions about their next steps.”

The pupils dressed in traditional mortar boards and gowns to make the most of their graduation experience. They each received a certificate and listened to inspirational talks by the Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Iris Anderson, several of the teachers involved and Savannah King, President of the University of Winchester Students’ Union.
