Hampshire Hot Rides were out in force at the all new Andover Show last weekend.
100 cars and 7 motorbikes showed up in support of the organisations ‘Summer Special’ fundraiser. Money raised will go towards a memorial bench for local Rory Paul who was tragically killed in a motorbike accident in March 2007.
Fundraising efforts were slightly thwarted by the sudden cancellation of the track events. Hampshire Hot Rides founder Michael Ford told Andover and Villages: “We needed to raise £870 and we only made £115. I feel I’ve let people down.”
Rory Paul’s sister Kayleigh Gove said: “My mum and I would like to thank Michael Ford and the members of Hampshire Hot Rides for all of their hard work in putting together a meeting and raising funds for Rory. Although the target amount wasn’t achieved this time, just the fact that there are kind people who tried their best means the absolute world to us and Rory would of been overwhelmed.”
Andover and Villages would like to make a special appeal to local businesses and sponsors for donations to add to the Hampshire Hot Rides Summer Special fundraising total. If you would like to contribute please contact us.
