Test Valley Borough Council has awarded hair salon owner Jayne Tarrant with a £500 Business Incentive Grant in recognition of her hard work setting up new business, Just Teasin, a hairdressing service in Andover.
Jayne and her husband Matthew purchased Mimmos, the Bridge Street hair salon, in March 2015 and have re-launched the business as Just Teasin. Jayne was a stylist at Mimmos for 23 years before finding herself in the perfect position to take over when Mimmo Letteriello retired after an incredible 37 years in the town.
Jayne said: “I’m so pleased that I was able to take over the salon this year. It’s a fantastic place to work and I’m glad that we can continue to provide the public with the same standard of service that has become well established over the years.”
Andover St Mary’s ward member, Councillor John Cockaday, presented Jayne with the cheque and added: “I’d like to congratulate Jayne and Matthew on successfully rebranding the salon and providing the public with an excellent service. The Council is committed to supporting local traders and the Business Incentive Grant is a small gesture to thank and congratulate entrepreneurs for their valued contribution to the local economy.”
The council’s Business Incentive Grant is intended to make a positive contribution towards the cost of starting a new business. Applicants must apply for the grant before they start the new business and the grant is presented six months later. For more information, please visit
