Barton stacey Choir Perform Vivaldi

Tickets are now on sale for the Barton Stacey Chamber Choir’s most ambitious concert yet, to be held at 7.30pm on Saturday 1st November, at All Saints’ Church, Barton Stacey (SO21 3RT).

Having spent the summer singing folk songs, including a flash mob at the Bullington Craft Fete, this versatile choir is now changing gear to perform the classic choral works ‘Gloria’ by Vivaldi, and ‘Coronation Anthems 1 & 3’ by Handel, including the famous ‘Zadok the Priest’. The latter is especially familiar, even to non-music fans, as the music of the UEFA Championship League anthem. It is also one of the BBC’s “Ten Pieces” currently being used to introduce young children to great classical music.

Musical Director Kate Chapman says, “These works are usually sung by far larger choirs, but with the great acoustics of All Saints’ Church we’re confident of putting on a stirring performance.”

Tickets are £10 or £8 for concessions; children under 12 go free. Available from Kate Chapman on 07881 815874 or from the village shop and The Swan Inn, Barton Stacey.
