Local News | Fyfield and Hurstbourne Tarrant Churches Repair GrantKit Malthouse, conservative candidate for North West Hampshire, has welcomed today’s announcement of significant grant funding for repairs to three churches in the constituency.

St Nicholas’s in Fyfield, St Peter’s in Hurstbourne Tarrant and All Saints in Deane, will receive over £87,000 between them for work which will also help to prevent further damage to these buildings, ensuring they are preserved for generations to come.

Kit Malthouse said: “This funding is fantastic news and comes on top of £500,000 announced for Winchester Cathedral last year. All three of these churches are an important part of our community and this money will make sure they remain so for many years to come.”

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said: “Churches and Cathedrals are a unique part of our national heritage, and play a vital role in community life – we want to support them, and thanks to our long-term economic plan, we can. Whether it’s our country’s future or these important buildings, the sun is shining and we’re starting to fix the roof.”
