Test Valley Borough Council is delighted to announce that Four Fun Fridays is set to return to Andover High Street this summer for its fourth year!
This FREE programme of High Street events will bring a big dose of creative fun to Andover, transforming the High Street into a festival for the first four Fridays in August (2, 9, 16, 23). Each Friday there will be a variety of street entertainment, live music, creative workshops and competitions for all the family to enjoy.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Phil North said: “This is the fourth consecutive year of Four Fun Fridays, with each year seeing an increase in the number of people enjoying the amazing, exciting, and sometimes downright wacky events and performances.
They were incredibly popular last year and the events really brought a sense of vibrant community to the town. The idea came from a variety of public engagement activities that informed us that local people wanted more events in the High Street, so the Four Fun Fridays achieves this really well. Entertainment, music, dancing and performances are the perfect way to create the buzz that residents told us they wanted, and best of all, it is free to enjoy.”
“The project has been funded by Section 106 developer contributions from the Andover Business Park and supports our ambitions for Public Art in the Test Valley to involve, inspire and intrigue.”
Shoppers and visiting families will be able to get involved in many different activities including street theatre and outdoor performances, 2D chalk painting, storytelling, face painting, and encounters with flying carpets and giant kangaroos on amazing bouncing stilts! Each Friday will have a special theme: 2 August – Beside the Sea; 9 August – Around the World; 16 August – Fairy tales, Myths and Legends, and 23 August – Join the Circus.
