The award winning Blue Apple Theatre is due to bring new drama afternoons to The Lights in Andover, starting in September. Recently featured in the BBC 3 TV documentary ‘Growing Up Down’s’, Hampshire’s award winning Theatre group offers professionally produced Theatre, Dance and Film, by performers with learning disabilities, and enables them to follow their dreams and perform to the widest possible audiences.

Due to the generosity of a recent lottery award, Blue Apple can now bring all the benefits of taking part in theatre to people who have learning disabilities and who live in other areas of Hampshire, starting with Andover. There will be two, free taster sessions, held on Tuesday September 23rd 2:30 – 4pm, and Tuesday October 7th 2:30 – 4pm. To register for these sessions contact Elisabeth at Blue Apple Theatre at: admin@blueappletheatre.com – mentioning Andover.

The new regular weekly drama sessions will then take place on Tuesday afternoons, 2:30 – 4pm, starting after half term at The Lights in Andover. Costs to take part are just £5 per session or £30 for the whole term.

Jane Jessop, founding Director of the Blue Apple Theatre, says that she is delighted to bring the group to The Lights, and that being part of a theatre group is great for learning new skills, understanding yourself and others, as well as making friends.
