The sun shone for an afternoon of family fun at Amport Fete earlier this month.
An assortment of activities were on offer : thrill seekers donned harnesses and climbed to the top of the tallest tree on the green, budding athletes competed in the fete sports day and tractor rides through Amport House were a sell out.
The merriment continued into the evening with a hog roast, an auction and live music. According to Fete Organiser Kate Cavalier, the total amount raised is likely to exceed £15,000. Fundraising efforts will not end there.
“The Community Charity has a number of projects in the pipeline including a defibrillator for the village, an apple harvest festival and a history festival in the Spring next year.”
When asked about next year’s fete Kate said: “Next year will be bigger and better, you can count on it!”
