Andover Festival of Motoring 2019 took over Andover’s High Street and the Vigo Park on Sunday 22nd September 2019.

Organised by the team that originally brought the Andover Festival of Motoring Show back to life five years ago, the event had a lot to prove.

Kicking off at 10.00am, the day started off with quite heavy rainfall, but that did not put off the die-hard exhibitors who turned up with their fun, quirky, cool and downright amazing vehicles including imported mustangs, drift cars, the Flinstones Footmobile, motorbikes, minis, diggers and cool army trucks!

As the day went on, the rain started to clear up and more visitors turned up to look around the cars in the High Street, adults and children alike flocked around the cars.

The star of the show today, amongst many amazing vehicles was the Batmobile, it is absolutely huge and so completely cool, we would very much like the owner to contact for a chat about it!

Thruxton Motor Circuit, Merityre, Martins VW and Andover Radio were in attendance along with lots of clubs and some stalls.

Up at Vigo Park, the car club type cars were on display and there was a LOT of very loud (and slightly scary for some children) revving of engines. I particularly liked the Ford Escorts, RS Turbo and Ford Capri – which I fear shows my age – but there was a LOT of coolness in this park including Japanese Kei cars – you could just feel the enthusiasm for all of the cars on show.

I have come away really wanting a Classic American Pick Up Truck, maybe even a matte black on!

What was most obvious is how lovely all of the people are that brought their cars along today for everyone to enjoy looking at.

It was a real shame that the weather wasn’t better for the team who organised the event, but regardless, everyone who turned up looked like they were having a good time and I just know that next year’s event will be even bigger and better than this year!
