Health News | Epic Obstacle Race for Naomi House | Andover & VillagesIt’s the most exciting obstacle race of the summer and it’s returning to Hampshire in support of life-limited and life-threatened children and young people – get ready for the Naomi House & Jacksplace Gauntlet Games!

The 5k and 10k obstacle course will see participants tackle a series of gladiator zones, bounce on inflatables, swing from monkey bars above ice cold water, battle gladiators with pugil sticks and escape on a giant slip and slide!

This hilarious and enjoyable obstacle course is open to everyone aged 17 years and over. Intended to be challenging but fun and achievable for all, The Gauntlet Games will take place at the atmospheric Matterley Bowl, near Winchester on 12th May.

Staff at the charity anticipate more than 700 people will take part in the second Gauntlet Games in The South, and hope the event will raise in excess of £50,000 in this the charity’s 21st anniversary year.

Keith Wilson, Marketing manager at Naomi House & Jacksplace said: “Our last Gauntlet Games was a huge, muddy, cold and thoroughly enjoyable success. It is the perfect event perfect for groups of friends or workmates looking for a giggle, as well as more serious runners and obstacle race competitors who want to push themselves and chase down a personal best. We would urge people to sign up early to secure their space and help local life-limited children, young people and their families on good days, difficult days and last days.”

Entry before 28th March costs just £30 per person for the 5k race, and £35 for the 10k route. Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £100 for Naomi House & Jacksplace, to help fund vital care and support for life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and families on good days, difficult days and last days.

Friends and family are free to explore the event village where there will be music, food and entertainment, and then cheer on participants as they tackle the first sets of obstacles.

Naomi House & Jacksplace offers respite, emergency, end of life and bereavement care to more than 340 life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families from across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight.
