If you become unwell over the bank holiday weekend your local pharmacist and NHS 111 are available to help you.
With advice on common illnesses and the best medicines to treat them, visiting the pharmacist can save you time and help you feel better fast.
Pharmacists have at least four years of training to become experts in medicine. Your local pharmacist can also use their expertise and practical knowledge to give advice about minor illnesses and injuries. You can talk to a pharmacist in confidence, most now offer private consultation areas and you don’t need to book an appointment.
Dr Sarah Schofield, GP and Chair of West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group said: “Your local pharmacy can help you with more than you might think. Pharmacists are highly trained health professionals, who can offer expert, confidential advice and treatment for many minor health problems.
“Remember to order any medication you need in plenty of time so that you have a good supply during the bank holidays. But if you do run out, speak to your pharmacist who is best placed to help.” Many pharmacies will remain open over the Easter bank holidays, when other services are often unavailable.
