Dummy Dry Salt Run this Saturday in Hampshire

Hampshire County Council salt spreaders will be driving along the priority two salting routes on a dry run on Saturday, November 1.

Priority two salting routes include some of the smaller and more rural roads in the county that are only salted following significant snowfall once the main roads ( priority one routes) have been treated. For more information about road salting visit: http://www3.hants.gov.uk/roads/winter-maintenance/road-salting.htm

This trial run is important to ensure there are no obstructions on the routes and equipment is fully operational, ready for adverse winter weather.

The salt spreaders will be on the network between 07:00 and 13:00. No salt will be spread on the network. This is a ‘dry run’.

Priority One routes were tested previously and on some routes a light dusting of salt was spread to ensure the equipment was fully operational.
