Andover Light Switch on 2019

The busiest event in Andover is soon-to-come. The annual Christmas Light Switch on 2019 is confirmed for 5-7.30pm on Friday 15th November in Andover High Street.

The most popular event of the year is brought to you by Test Valley Borough Council This is the biggest event in Andover’s calendar and heralds the start of Christmas festivities in the High Street.

The event is perfect for families with Father Christmas stopping by, rides, stilt-walking reindeers, face painting, hot food, live music and The Big TV Screen so no-one will miss a thing. This year, Luke Shearer, with Luis Wyatts ably assisting, will perform at Light switch on with a variety of talented local performers and kids on the platform.

A skilled local teenager, Luis Wyatt, will be the co-host of Luke. Although Luis is only 16 years old, in his presentation portfolio he has accomplished many major milestones. He has been on the radio for six years, currently on Andover Radio and earlier on the Spark FM radio station at Winton Community Academy.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Phil North, said: “So many local families make this an annual treat to start the lead up to Christmas. Everything about the event celebrates the abundance of fantastic local talent that we have in Andover, from the acts to the comperes, and I am delighted to welcome our new hosting duo, Luke and Luis.”

“If you haven’t experienced it yet, I would highly recommend that you make your way to the High Street on 15 November and be part of a fantastic community event.”

Test Valley Borough Council, Andover Vision, Andover Town Council and The Chantry Centre will bring you this very popular annual event. The afternoon culminates in a large show of fireworks from the top of the Chantry Centre and should not be missed.
