The Travelling Cupcake downsized in March 2016 after expanding their Bridge Street based business last year.
In March 2015, Andover & Villages reported that Radix Properties Limited, who own 4 Bridge Street in Andover (home of the Travelling Cupcake), were given the go ahead for a change of use to the first and second floors, after the PR Company which occupied the floors moved out.
The application requested that the use of floors one and two be subjected to a change of class from office space to a cafe/bakery so that The Travelling cupcake could expand upwards. This month a further application has been submitted to reverse the change of use back to office space.
The popular local business will continue to operate from the ground floor, serving drinks, cakes, South African goods and celebration cakes.
Bev Botha and her partner Greg were one of the first residents in Andover’s 4 Bridge Street Pop Up Shop, and after great success decided to open a shop in Waterloo Court. With a big focus on home baking and providing genuine South African products from Bev’s home country, the shop moved back to its original home on 4 Bridge Street in 2014.
