Test Valley Borough Council has been successful in court after an individual failed to pay a fixed penalty notice for allowing their dog to foul.
The case was heard at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last month and was proved in absence. The individual was fined £400 and ordered to pay costs of £180.
Paul Wykes, Head of Environmental Services at Test Valley Borough Council, said: “Dog fouling is a criminal offence and we take the issue seriously. We urge dog owners to take responsibility for clearing up after their pet and to use the bins provided.”
