Council Help's Fun Harrow Way Performing Art SpaceTest Valley Borough Council has awarded £20,000 to Harrow Way Community School to put towards a purpose-built performing arts space. The grant comes from the Council’s Community Asset Fund which supports projects that will provide or enhance community infrastructure.

The new facility will include a sprung floor and raised ceiling to enable a range of performing arts groups to benefit from modern and specialist facilities. The space will be made available to the public and will increase the range of community amenities available to hire at the school.

Community and Leisure Portfolio Holder, Councillor Tony Ward, said: “This will be Andover’s first purpose-built performing arts facility and will support the existing dance, drama and theatre community as well as provide for future groups. The proposals are well supported by local clubs and the school pupils who will benefit from the facilities throughout the year to enhance their learning.”

Organisations can apply to the Community Asset Fund for a grant of up to £25,000. Applicants can submit bids for up to 50 per cent of the cost of a project. For more information, visit www.testvalley.gov.uk/CAF.
