Conservative Candidate Meets ManuelaAndover’s Attitude of Gratitude campaigner Manuela Wahnon met up with Kit Malthouse, the Conservative Candidate for North West Hampshire, this week.

Well-known Andover resident Manuela was awarded one of David Cameron’s Point of Lights awards for her work in keeping Andover tidy, with her daily litter picking outings.

Hanging up her litter picker late last year, Manuela now concentrates on educating the public and children with various talks around the town on how having an Attitude of Gratitude is the fulfilling and responsible way to live.

Meeting at The Star and Garter in Andover’s High Street, Kit and Manuela enjoyed a drink together and then took a brief walk in the High Street. Manuela said of the meeting, “Kit Malthouse comes over as a great family man with good honest to goodness values. By the time our meeting was over, I formed the opinion that he is also a person of integrity and genuine optimism.

“I found Kit a really approachable intelligent, and compassionate person, who took the time, to do his homework before meeting me, which I found flattering. I see him as a person of vision, optimism and a truly good egg. We talked a lot about positivity, his vision for the town, and where he sees his role within the community, I found him fascinating, I truly wish him all the success he undoubtedly deserves “

Kit Malthouse told Andover & Villages, “Manuela’s enthusiasm for life and for Andover is infectious, so meeting her was enormous fun. Her sense of duty and her dedication to keeping Test Valley tidy are really inspiring and a lesson to us all about what one motivated person can do. I was left wondering with awe what an army of Manuela’s could achieve and so I cheer her campaign on with gusto.

“As instructed I picked up one piece of litter on my way there, and then three on the way back!”
