Last year the locally loved garden centre, Rosebourne, Weyhill, had announced that it would be starting a competition in which the player would throw a tree, and whoever threw the furthest distance would win.

Today the competition began and looked very encouraging and we anticipate the event will happen next year.

The award for winning the competition included a free Christmas tree next year and an afternoon tea for two at the garden centre.

All the trees entered into the competition will be recycled by Rosebourne

Neville Prest, Managing Director of Rosebourne said: “Everyone is always a little bit downhearted packing the decorations away, so we thought we’d launch ourselves into the new year with a little fun by recreating our Christmas Tree throwing competition.

“We’re holding it at both stores and hope that everyone that buys a tree from us joins us in recycling it in the most fun way possible.”

All trees that have been entered into the competition will be recycled by Rosebourne.
