Andover unity mobility

Unity ‘Mobility’ has announced the delivery of four state-of-the-art pieces of equipment for their Mobility service at the Andover Bus Station.

The Andover based organisation provides a range of equipment for Shopmobility customers but offers the opportunity to hire equipment for short periods for those who may have been injured or are going away and need a wheelchair for days or weeks.

The new equipment includes, a ‘state-of-the-art’ powered wheelchair, three-wheel powered chair, wheelchair and portable wheelchair which was supplied by A to B Mobility who service all of Unity’s equipment.

Terry Bishop, Chief Executive said “We are delighted to be able to use donations received to purchase this new equipment which has given us the opportunity to clear out old stock which has been proving difficult to fix.  These items enable us to provide the best possible service to our customers and for those thinking about hiring equipment for short term reasons.”

An awareness-raising campaign to inform health professionals about the short-term hire services is due to be launched in the next few weeks and Unity Mobility are also planning an open morning on Wednesday 10th July to give people a non-obligatory opportunity to view equipment, try the equipment for themselves, ask questions or receive low key training if people need a refresher or lack confidence in using motorised scooters.
