The Baby Room in the Chantry Centre has closed its doors for the last time.
The local shop that supplied baby and childrenswear, has been closed for some weeks, with a sign on the door that indicated they would be reopening shortly, however it has been confirmed by the company themselves, that the shop will not reopen.
Local town councillors had been trying to help increase footfall to the shop in recent months.
The Baby Room posted the following statement on their Facebook page:
It is with great regret we announce our closure. We would like to thank our loyal customers for your support.
Despite business going well we were unable to continue to an ongoing dispute with the centre.
The Baby Room launched in Romsey in 2013 and was the first recipient of TVBC’s Retailer Grant of £1,000, sadly the Romsey shop has also closed, along with the online store.
Economic Portfolio Holder, Councillor Peter Giddings, said: “We are very sorry to hear about the closure of The Baby Room in Andover. The Council does all it can to support local business owners, particularly in their first few months and years of trading, as we know how difficult it can be. We would like to wish Hannah all the best for her future.”
The Chantry Centre declined to comment on the alleged dispute.
