Test Valley Borough Council will once again be celebrating its independent retailers and small businesses by taking part in this year’s Small Business Saturday.
This year’s event will take place on 5 December when Andover High Street will be packed with local businesses exhibiting and selling their products and services to the public. The town will host a Speciality Market, with fantastic food and drink and wonderful arts and crafts to browse and buy. So whether you’re looking for fabulous festive fare, great gifts, or simply want to support your local businesses, pop along to the market which will be open from 9am to 4pm.
Laurence Martin from the Federation of Small Businesses will visit Andover at 12pm to meet some of the Test Valley traders who have received the Council’s Independent Retailer Grant and Business Incentive Grant. Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Iris Andersen, will also attend the event, outside the Guildhall, to congratulate the traders on their successful businesses.
Economic Portfolio Holder, Councillor Peter Giddings, said: “We do all we can to recognise and support businesses throughout the year but Small Business Saturday is an opportunity to really highlight the work of our businesses and the fantastic products and services they offer. The Federation of Small Businesses has recognised Test Valley Borough Council as business friendly for several years. We were the only authority in the Wessex region to be Highly Commended in this year’s awards in both the best overall business friendly council and for the most innovative programme, which was awarded for our work to develop town centres.”
