Health News | Caring for Carers | Andover & VillagesHAMPSHIRE Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s palliative care team are holding a free forum for carers supporting adults with chronic and life-limiting illnesses.

The forum, which is open to family and professional carers, as well as people who foresee taking up a caring role in the future, will take place at The Apollo Hotel, Basingstoke, between 9am and 4pm on Wednesday 10 May.

The aim is to offer support, guidance and advice for carers, equipping carers with new skills that will be beneficial to them. Subjects including advance care planning, managing symptoms, financial advice, nutrition, manual handling and ways that carers can also look after themselves will be covered during the course of the day.

A wide range of experts from across Hampshire Hospitals will address the forum, while the session about looking after themselves will be led by Kerry Hearsey MBE, Chief Executive of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire.

For more information, or to book a place at the forum, contact Hampshire Hospitals’ palliative care team on 01256 314839 or email
