Test Valley Borough Council’s Environmental Services team cleared more than four tonnes of rubbish, including a fly-tipped sofa, from Broughton during a Sparkle Day on 23 September.
The Sparkle Day team cleared and tidied the streets of Broughton in glorious autumn sunshine. They cut back shrubs and hedges, cleaned road signs and distributed information about recycling to approximately 250 properties.
Environmental Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “Teams from both Andover and Romsey joined forces for this Sparkle Day, which took place in the centre of our borough. The day included a recycling roadshow at Broughton Primary School where the team spoke to the children and parents about the benefits of recycling.”
The next Sparkle Day will take place in the Priestlands area of Romsey on Tuesday, 27 October 2015. For more information, visit www.testvalley.gov.uk/love
