Blue Plaque to be Placed in Honour of Reg Presley

Permission has been granted by Test Valley Borough Council to erect a blue plaque in honour of Reg Presley, singer from the 1960’s band, The Troggs.

Reg was born and bred in Andover and was often referred to as ‘Mr Andover’.

Reg died on 4th February 2013 after a long career in the music business. The Troggs had several top 10 hits in the 1960s, many written by Reg himself.

Reg’s song Love Is All Around was recorded by The Troggs and again later by REM and Wet Wet Wet, later becoming the theme to one of the most popular British films of the 1990s, Four Weddings and a Funeral.

The song was an international hit and topped the UK singles charts for 15 weeks.

The Plaque will be placed at 12 High Street, Andover where Reg performed in the 1960’s.
