I want a flake!
 Joint Slimmer of the Week!

I am craving and would give my right arm for a flake right now, which would be a double plus, as I reckon that bad boy weighs about a stone, which would be great for this weeks weigh in!

Last Tuesday night, after weigh-in, I attended the monthly Andover Women in Business Event at the newly refurbish Star & Garter Hotel, Andover Buffets had put on a massive spread and I had been dreading it. However, I did not eat anything despite it smelling wonderful and I drank still water all evening. I rewarded myself with a glass of bubbly on my return home at 9pm.

I haven’t felt so motivated this week and on Friday I realised I had caught a cold from my lovely children, who had picked it up from school ( I wish they wouldn’t share sometimes!). Of course this meant that my daily treks around the village weren’t as energetic as I would have hoped and even on Saturday being too ill to even leave the warmth of the house. This had me worrying and googling terms like ‘Does a cold make you gain weight?’ and ‘How much does mucus from a cold weigh?’ – any reason to justify a small weight loss or God forbid a weight gain!

I have, despite all of the above, been really good and have not eaten a morsel of anything I shouldn’t, quite the opposite I have been uber good and sometimes through my cold forgotten to eat, which I find is more detrimental in many ways, so I approached Tuesday morning with the usual trepidation and fear.

When I approached the scales, I considered whipping off my skirt and top – and of course my tights which have to weigh, ummm, a couple of ounces! All was not so bad, I ended up losing a good 4lbs, which was more than I expected. It was a great loss for a second week weigh-in and so I intend to keep going with Simple Start as it suits me and my family.

Highlights of the week were the Caribbean Chicken again and being able to prepare meals that my family can enjoy with me rather than me having to eat alone. They of course have the extras, like cheese, bread and sauces, but I really don’t mind.

Ok, I must admit … on my last weigh-in, I was a little deflated to say the least. I thought my weight loss was going to be nearly double! I explained that I had put myself on my own scales through the week and had recorded a bigger loss, which was a mistake. You must always weigh on the same scales (those being at your weekly meeting), so this was a lesson learned.

So, to begin this week, I spent an evening on the SW online website, a helpful tool, with advice, ‘syn’ calculator, weight recording app, some lovely recipes and lots more.

I planned my meals on a daily planner sheet, wrote the ingredients needed and did my first online shop.

Having just myself and (supportive) hubby at home, I have banished all crisps and chocolate from my cupboards, thus reserving my willpower for the wine gremlin!!

I have had some very tasty meals this week, and found an awesome, fat free recipe for BBQ sauce, this I cooked with pulled pork.

Whatever my weigh-in this week, I slip into my jeans a lot easier, and my hubby has also noticed a loss!! Alas, I always seem to drain from the “top” down, my hips and bum are last to lose!!

On the agenda toward my “Body Magic” F.I.T Log this week, Aqua Zumba (not done this before).

This week’s meeting gave farewells to Vickie and hello to our new consultant Julie, and also my weight loss, a very worthy 4lb, giving me a sticker for passing my 1/2 stone loss and another sticker and certificate for achieving a joint “slimmer of the week” for the weight lost and sustaining it.

Looking at some pictures from my weeks menu conjures the thought “wow, what a great diet”.
