Augusta Park Community Centre Opens

Good old fashioned community spirit was the order of the day at Augusta Park earlier this month at The Community Centre Grand Opening. Councillor Phil North cut the ribbon at the launch organised by The Augusta Park Community Association

A dedicated team of volunteers made sure a variety of entertainment was on offer for all ages during the day. A cake competition, a Minion and Minnie Mouse ‘meet and greet’ and a baby and toddler sensory demonstration were amongst an array of activities that kept a steady stream of visitors occupied.

The APCA has plenty of events coming up: Keep Calm It’s Quiz Night on the 15th August, a Halloween Party and the annual Christmas Party. The committee also has a Beer Festival planned for next year.

APCA Chair Nicola Armstrong said: “The development has a really strong sense of community and the Centre is a good way of bringing people together.”
