Assault on Andover High StreetPolice are appealing for information after a man was assaulted on Andover High Street on Tuesday afternoon (December 16).

A 21-year-old was attacked by another man outside the Marks & Spencer store shortly before 4pm.

The attacker tried to head butt him and then punched him in the face.

A woman tried to intervene, but those involved dispersed.

The victim was treated in hospital for a possible broken nose and is now back home.

A 17-year-old from Andover was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was bailed until January 16.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and in particular the woman who attempted to intervene.
