Operation Tetcott - Appeal after fatal road traffic collision in Andover

Police are investigating a fatal road traffic collision in the Andover area.

A man aged in his 70s was pronounced dead in Duck Street, Abbotts Ann after the white Dacia Sandero he was driving collided with a parked unattended car.

The collision took place shortly before 10.30am this morning (Friday, November 14, 2014).

No one else was travelling in the Dacia.

Immediate next-of-kin have been informed, but police won’t be in a position to name the deceased man until all formal identification procedures are completed.

Part of Duck Street was closed for approximately four hours while an initial police investigation took place at the scene.

Police would like to thank local residents and motorists for their patience and co-operation, in particular the staff at Abbotts Ann Church of England Primary school.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or the white Dacia Sandero being driven in the Abbotts Ann area between 10.15am and 10.30am this morning (Friday).
