Andover’s notorious bridge in Charlton Road has claimed another victim this morning.

A Wheelers branded Double Decker bus drove under the bridge, completely slicing the roof off of the bus.

The bus crashed into the bridge at around 9.45am.

Witnesses have reported that there was no one on the top deck of the bus at the time of the incident and it is understood no one was injured, however, police are yet to confirm the full details.

The bridge in Charlton last claimed a bus in 2008, however, lorries are regular casualties of the low height of the bridge.

One Facebook user wrote, “Open-top bus tours now available in Andover, please contact wheelers for more information.”

Another user said, “Put your hands up in the air and scream if you wanna go faster.”
