One of Tesco’s Managers, Emma Leigh Rahman, decided to take on the mammoth task of arranging a Macmillan Coffee Morning at Tesco Extra over a two day period, and judging by the rate cakes were being sold, it will continue to be a great success. Ably assisted by Becki and Rachell, tea, coffee and cake was seamlessly flying out of the marquee.
The Mayor of Test Valley, Jan Lovell, was in attendance and told Andover & Villages, “The Macmillan charity is very dear to my heart, mainly because my son, Andrew, has had cancer for the last five years. The Macmillan nurses have been fantastic with him during his treatment.”
Childminder, Sarah Abbott, stopped by to enjoy tea and cake with three of her childminded children, each of whom were having a lovely time meeting the Mayor. Sarah said, “This is such an important charity to raise money for. More research is needed as well as funding for the great work the nurses do.”
The Macmillan Coffee Morning continues tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am-4pm, so please do show your support with a donation and the purchase of a cup of coffee (or tea!) and a cake or two.
