The Chantry Centre today (4th August 2014) marked the 100 year anniversary of the Declaration of War on Germany, by releasing 100 pigeons outside Andover Guildhall.

It was a poignant moment and sight, as the pigeons flew up into the blue skies above, whilst onlookers remembered those who lost their lives during The Great War. A man dressed in WW1 army uniform played a small bugle as the pigeons soared and War Veterans looked on.

After the release of the pigeons, the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Jan Lovell, unveiled The Chantry Centre’s new interactive WW1 display.
