Andover & Villages News - Early Bird Catches the Worm!

Residents who completed their online subscription to this year’s Garden Waste Collection service during the early bird period were automatically entered into a prize draw.  The first prize was £100 to spend at the Andover Garden Centre, and five runners up prizes of a year’s free subscription to the Garden Waste Collection Service.

The lucky winner of the first prize was Gavin Meier from Romsey.

Presenting the prizes, Councillor Ian Carr, Leader of the Council, said: “A record number of people chose to join online this year.  Being able to offer householders the chance to join online is important as it gives greater choice and saves time and money for everyone involved.”

The five runners up were Michael Page from West Wellow, James Loy from Chandlers Ford, Sandra Brown from Wherwell, Antony Bateman from Romsey with the final winner from Hurstbourne Tarrant, all of whom received an annual subscription to the scheme.

This spring over 50 per cent of subscribers to the Council’s Garden Waste Collection service applied online.  For more information about the service visit www.testvalley.gov.uk/gardenwaste
