An activity for the children of Andover and the surrounding Villages, for the final week of the school holidays, has been announced this week. The brainchild of local community supporters, Janet Thorpe and Iris Andersen, and with the backing of Chris Gregory, the new Andover Town Centre Manager, it’s a great opportunity for local children to get out and about in Andover Town Centre.
Children from the town need to collect a form from one of the participating shops (listed below), and visit each shop window to find a ‘back to school item’ that will be part of the window display, note the item down for each shop and hand the form into the Andover Advertiser offices by midday on Monday 1st September 2014.
Iris Andersen told Andover & Villages, “This really is a great opportunity for parents to get out and about in the last week of the summer holidays and do something with the children for free, also giving the whole family an opportunity to see what great shops we do have in Andover Town Centre, as they find the hidden items.”
The prizes for the activity, secured by Iris and Janet, are:
- A Family Meal for 2 adults and 2 children at Andover Wimpy
- Family tickets for the Lights Theatre
- Afternoon Tea at the Travelling Cupcake
Participating shops are:
Dawkins Pet Supplies
David Mellor Jewellers
La di da
Martin & Co
Lone Fairy Jewellery
Naturally Health Foods
