Local News | Andover Town Bunting Project LaunchesArtists are invited to apply to Test Valley Borough Council for a new public art commission to make unique bunting for Andover High Street.

The bunting should be based on imagery from creative collages, stories and visions about the town that were created at the Encounters pop up shop in 2014. It is envisaged that it will be made in the shape of luggage labels, drawing on the diversity of the journeys that people have taken to reach Andover.

The deadline for applications is 8 May. Artists interested in finding out more about the project are invited to contact Faye Perkins on 01264 368844.

The Encounters Shop Project gave more than 1,000 people the opportunity to look at their town through a different creative lens. The information gathered provided a valuable snapshot in time and recorded feedback from people about their views, aspirations and ideas for the town. The overall vision for the future was of a colourful, vibrant place with something for everyone and at its heart a sense of a caring community.

The bunting project is the first of many ideas to develop from the Encounters shop. It is anticipated that the project will be completed and in place for the summer.
