Volunteers from St John Ambulance in Andover are holding a Spring craft fair, at Priory Hall, Love Lane on Saturday 10 March.

The event is a charity fundraiser to help raise money for a defibrillator. When someone suffers a cardiac arrest, the chance of survival falls by 10 per cent every minute without first aid. But, with CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and the use of a defibrillator within three minutes, their chance of survival could be as high as 70 per cent.

Residents are urged to go along to support the initiative, and to browse table top stalls offering handmade cards and gifts, which could be perfect for Mothering Sunday (11 March). Entry is 50p.

Shona Wilkins, Unit Manager, said: “We held a similar event in November, which was incredibly well supported. We hope lots of people will come along and help us to raise money to buy a life saving piece of equipment, which can benefit the wider community.”
