ROAD IMPROVEMENT DISRUPTIONS FOR A303 – A34 – M3 – M27 – WC 2/9/18

M3 junctions 8 Dummer to 9 Winchester, Hampshire: safety barrier

Work to ensure road user safety by repairing damaged sections of safety barrier along the M3 starts this week. Lane closures will be in place on the north and southbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 3 September for 3 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junction 8/9 Maidenhead to 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: smart motorway

Work to improve journeys by converting the M4 into a smart motorway continues this week. 24 hour narrow lanes and a 50mph speed restriction will be in place until spring 2019.

M4 junction 8/9 to 10 Littlefield Green, Berkshire: bridge maintenance

Work to ensure road safety by maintaining the bridge that carries the B3024 over the M4 continues this week. Two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place over the bridge until Friday 21 September. In addition the B3024 over the bridge will be fully closed overnight, between 9pm and 5am) during the same period (Monday to Friday only).

During the closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via Waltham St Lawrence, Twyford, Shurlock Row, Warfield, Hawthorn Hill and Touchen-End.  This route has been approved by the local authority for its suitability for most types of vehicles, however it is unsuitable for vehicles higher than 3.5 metres.

M4 junction 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: street lighting

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the street lighting around junction 10 continues this week. The eastbound entry slip road from the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway, and the westbound exit slip road leading to the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 7  September.  Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.

M4 junction 13 Chieveley, West Berkshire: street lighting

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the street lighting around junction 13 continues this week. The M4 eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 14 September (Monday to Friday only).  Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.

In addition, the exit out from the Hilton hotel to the Chieveley roundabout will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Thursday 30 August for 4 nights (Monday to Friday only).  A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the southbound link, then along the A339 to the Vodafone Roundabout, returning to the A34 via the A339 northbound carriageway.

M27 junctions 3 to 4 Southampton, Hampshire: bridge reconstruction

Work to maintain journeys and ensure road user safety by replacing the Romsey Road bridge near junction 3 continues this week. A 50mph speed restriction is in place on the M27 east and westbound carriageways beneath the bridge until summer 2019.

A3 Guildford, Surrey: resurfacing

Works to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the A3 northbound carriageway near the A31 Hogs Back finishes this week. The A3 northbound carriageway will be closed from Compton to the Stoke Interchange overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Thursday 6 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place from Compton via the B3000 Puttenham Heath Road, the Hogs Back, A31 Farnham Road, A3100 London Road and the A25.

A3(M) Bedhampton, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing a section of the A3(M) southbound carriageway near Bedhampton finishes this week. The A3(M) southbound carriageway will be fully closed from junction 5 to the A27 westbound overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 7 September (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place from junction 5 down onto the A27 eastbound carriageway, exiting at the A3023 Langstone junction, loop around the roundabout and join the A27 westbound carriageway.

 

A27 Farlington, Hampshire: signs

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the signage along the A27 starts this week. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads at the A2030 Eastern Road junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 3 September. In addition, the westbound exit slip road at the A2030 Eastern Road junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 4 September.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the adjacent junctions.

A27 Warblington, Hampshire: signs

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the signage along the A27 takes place this week. The westbound exit slip road at the A259 Warblington junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 7 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Langstone junction.

A31 Cadnam to Ringwood, Hampshire: road markings

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A31 takes place this week. The A31 westbound carriageway will be closed from junction 2 of the M27 to the A338 Ashley Heath roundabout at Ringwood overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A36 to Salisbury then south on the A338 to Ringwood.

A31 St Leonards, Dorset: road markings

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A31 takes place this week. The A31 westbound carriageway will be closed from the Woolsbridge roundabout to the Boundary Lane roundabout overnight, between 9pm and 6am on Friday 7 September. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A338, East Parley and Ringwood Road.

A31 Ringwood, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to ensure road user safety by applying anti-skid material to a slip road at the Verwood junction takes place this week.  The westbound exit slip road at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 3 September for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Ashley Heath roundabout and return.

A34 Abingdon, Oxfordshire: safety barrier

Work to ensure road user safety by replacing sections of safety barrier along the A34 near Abingdon continues this week. 24 hour narrow lane running and a 50mph speed restriction will be in place on the A34 northbound carriageway until Friday 7 September.

In addition, the A34 northbound carriageway will be closed from the A415 Marcham Interchange to the A423 Hinksey Hill Interchange overnight, between 9pm and 6am, for the same duration (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A415 Marcham Road, Colwell Drive, Copenhagen Drive, Dunmore Road, Oxford Road and Hinksey Hill.

A303 Popham, Hampshire: milepost restoration

Work to restore a milepost located off the A303 near Popham finishes this week. A lane closure will be in place on the westbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Monday 3 September.
