Andover police Night

Police arrested a man with a knife tucked into the waistband of his trousers in a local pub last night (Friday 13th December 2019).

The man allegedly walked into the pub with the knife tucked into the back of the waistband of his trousers, local information has suggested that the incident took place in Wetherspoons in Andover’s High Street.

Door security stopped the man and restrained him until police arrived and arrested him for being in possession of an offensive weapon, namely a bladed article in a public place.

One eye witness said, “The doormen had a bloke restrained on the floor when we arrived. 4 police turned up and arrested him.”

Police have described the incident as ‘dramatic’.

The man remains in custody.
