andover man killed in lorry collision Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses and any dash-cam footage as they continue to investigate a fatal crash which claimed the life of an Andover man on Thursday, 13th October.

The incident involved two lorries on the A27 westbound at Bosham, near Chichester, a Mercedes-Benz curtain-sided lorry collided with a stationary Volvo skip loader before crashing into trees at around 2.20pm.

Sadly the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a 55-year-old man from Andover, Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Volvo driver, a 44-year-old man from Hayling Island, Hampshire, sustained minor injuries for which he was treated at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.

Sergeant Richard Hornsey, now leading the investigation, said: ” We’d like to hear from anyone using that stretch of the A27 who saw the collision occur or who noticed a broken-down goods vehicle on the westbound carriageway.

“Witnesses, or anyone who has any dash-cam footage showing the stationary vehicle prior to the collision, are asked to contact the Sussex Serious Collision Investigation Unit at collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk.

“Alternatively they can telephone 101, and in all instances they should quote Operation Anglican.”
