Andover Gym Launch Dazzles with Sparkling New Equipment and Surroundings

A £250,000 investment into state-of-the-art equipment at Andover Leisure Centre has been launched this week.

Jess Browning, Physical Activity Development Manager with Valley Leisure, the charitable trust that runs the Andover Leisure Centre on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council, said, “The new equipment is fantastic. More equipment means more variety, which makes for a more enjoyable workout.”

As well as the new equipment, the gym has new flooring and fresh interior too. All the equipment in the strength gym and all the resistance equipment in the main gym have all been changed or updated.

The area gives a more modern feel in the fresh open and modern gym.

Kevin Paterson, CEO of Valley Leisure, told Andover & Villages, “Valley Leisure have made an investment of 250K to upgrade the gym, which can cater for over 250,000 visits per year. Working in conjunction with Matrix Fitness, we now have one of the leading gyms in the South of England. Due to community support & membership we are able to continue to make these investments, which encourage people to be active helping their physical & mental well-being, which benefits the community.”

Al Darmanin, a fitness coordinator at Andover Leisure Centre, told us, “The Gym has already had a lot of impact as it has state of the art equipment, featuring Virtual Active technology. Our fitness equipment includes a Cardiovascular machine, brand new resistance training machines, which isolate muscle groups and a brand new strength room, benefiting from new equipment plus a state of the art rig that improves functional training.”
