Andover Local Leisure Centre has closed down due to a visitor having been diagnosed with coronavirus.

The message had been sent via the Leisure Centre’s website saying that a visitor had tested positive for the global virus.

The message said, “Following a report from an individual who briefly attended Andover Leisure Centre yesterday afternoon to collect someone, they have subsequently been positively diagnosed with the Coronavirus.

“On the advice of Public Health England, the centre is being closed as a precautionary measure for a deep clean. It is expected that the centre will close for a minimum of 24 hours.

“If you have any concerns or require further advice, please contact NHS 111 for further guidance. Details for reopening will be posted asap.”

The site will close for the minimum of 24 hours whilst it processes a deep clean.

Peter Symonds College also announced today that one of its students has been confirmed as a diagnosed case of the COVID-19 virus.
