Andover Drivers in Danger from Uncontrolled YouthsPolice are appealing for information following an incident which happened yesterday (Wednesday, February 11) between 2.30pm and 3.45pm. A group of young people were seen throwing items at passing cars from the pedestrian footbridge connecting Camelot Close to Athol Court in Andover.

Chief Inspector Kory Thorne district commander for Andover said “Throwing items off of bridges at passing vehicles is incredibly stupid and dangerous.

“We have seen incidents in the past in Hampshire where motorists have been hospitalised after items have been thrown off of bridges and have crashed through windscreens.

“I want to thank the people who challenged the group and called the police.”

A 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing danger to road users and has been bailed until April 15 pending further enquiries. Anyone with any information that might assist the investigation is asked to contact 101 quoting 44150049183 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
