Andover College is a step closer to the opening of its new multi-million pound, Future Skills and Technology Centre. Councillor Iris Anderson, Mayor of Test Valley was joined by principal funders Test Valley Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and Enterprise M3 LEP, for a special ceremony last week to lay the Commemorative Stone.
Tim Jackson, Andover College Principal said: “There is a critical need for high numbers of new technical and skilled professionals in this country. We will be able to make a significant contribution to this requirement with this industry standard facility when it opens in September. The College will provide a significant number of additional apprenticeship opportunities for local people and their employers and new training opportunities for engineers, mechanics and construction specialists.”
“The support we have been offered from local companies has been magnificent and the range of dialogue that has been taking place with Engineering, Electrical and Construction firms in Andover, demonstrates the interest which employers are showing in this facility which we hope everyone will be proud of” concludes Tim Jackson.
