Carpet supply chain, Carpetright has announced today that it is closing 92 stores and cutting over 300 jobs.

The chain has announced plans for a company voluntary arrangement (CVA), which allows the business to shut its worst performing stores, along with rent concessions on a further 113 stores.

Carpetright owns over 400 stores, Andover is not on the list of stores earmarked for closure.

Andover’s favourite Marks and Spencers is set for closure later this month.

UK electricals store Maplin is in administration, Andover’s store is holding a closing down sale.
