There is much excitement leading up to the Andover Carnival.

The yearly Carnival Royalty are chosen some months before and the 4 local youngsters with the titles, Prince, Princess and Attendants are regularly seen across the town opening shops and making official appearances with Andover Carnival Patron, Deputy Mayor and Andover Favourite, Iris Andersen.

Sunday 20th July started out as a beautiful day, the fun at Vigo Park set to open at 12 Noon with a funfair, live music throughout the day courtesy of Anton Road Studios and lots of other fun activities, stalls and yummy food and drink. The procession started at 4pm and arrived in Andover Town Centre at around 5pm.

There was an incident at approximately 5pm, when 2 females fell from the ‘Music Trip’ ride that was part of the Andover Carnival funfair, the official condition of the girls is not know at the time of publication.

The rest of the day went on without a hitch, attendance was good at Vigo Park and throughout the procession crowds lined the route.

Many thanks to Mark Bowley from the Star & Garter Hotel for allowing Andover & Villages’ Official Photographer for the day, Paul Scicluna to use the hotel’s balcony for the great shots of the procession.
